GLOBE activities are an important part of the education and outreach portion of SPHERE. In Summer 2006 there was a week long workshop on GLOBE protocols which included a day at NASA LaRC for the educators and undergraduate students. The rest of the week training was conducted at CNU, at Riverside Elementary School and at the Mariner's Museum Park, Newport News. Pictures from those events are here. Since that time, in Fall 2006 and Winter 2007, our principal GLOBE trainer, Ms. Nicole Burt has been working with local CHROME clubs to provide opportunities for teachers to become GLOBE certified and for their students to become active data collectors and earth system scientists.  This activity will continue in Spring 2007 with the dates of the Summer 2007 workshop to be determined. Contact us if you wish to be put on a mailing list when this information becomes available.

SUMMER 2007 GLOBE WORKSHOP completed at CNU: June 18-22, with a dozen participants.

SUMMER 2008 - Elementary Science course + GLOBE Workshop, July 7-11, 2008
